The Young Leaders Integrity Alliance
John Graham is a founder and mentor of the Young Leaders Integrity Alliance, whose mission is to build ethical, effective and transparent leadership for a just, peaceful and prosperous world. Organized as a global network, YLIA taps the coordinated power and possibility of young leaders to play greater roles in solving the public problems that test our communities, our nations and the world.
YLIA was launched in Berlin in August 2008, at a meeting funded by the Ford Foundation. The new organization has set up a website and a basic Secretariat in Oxford UK led by an Executive Director. It has presented at international conferences and taken initiatives such as lending its voice to calls for justice in Zimbabwe.
YLIA members are young leaders at the beginning to middle of careers in government, business, non-profit or other work that can impact the lives of many others. Current members include, for example, the leader of an anti-corruption organization in Colombia, a lawyer and reforms advocate in Lebanon, a conflict-prevention professional in Germany, a civil rights activist in Iran, a political consultant to the national Senate in Mexico, a community organizer in Kyrgyzstan, a journalist in Sri Lanka, a youth activist in Vietnam and many more.
YLIA’s global vision is idealistic; the means it has chosen to reach that vision are competent, practical, and based on real-world experience. For more information, please see www.ylia.net
